The Dutch Blockchain Coalition, together with 13 other organizations in both public and private sectors embarked on a fact-finding mission during the Singapore International Cyber Week #SICW 17-19 October 2023. Over the course of three days, they explored avenues for Trust Tech partnerships between The Netherlands and Singapore. Key highlights include discussions with the Singaporean triple helix, focusing on Trust Tech applications such as Decentralized Tech for Identities, Responsible AI, and Forensic Copilot. Read below the summary of our visit.

The Trust Tech fact-finding mission took place during the Singapore International Cyber Week, with a focus on digital innovation and building digital trust. Singapore has a well-thought-out long-term plan for its development and digital transformation, with large-scale whole-of-government programs in place to achieve digital embedding based on the Smart Nation vision. The mission involved strategic discussions with Singaporean organizations such as Nanyang Technological University Singapore, IMDA, i-Sprint Innovations, Tau Express, and HTX, focusing on practical solutions, research challenges, and mechanisms to translate outcomes into societal and economic impact. Key takeaways from the mission include the importance of active collaboration between government, academia, and the private sector in building digital trust, the shared benefits and challenges in developing and implementing trust tech despite the distance, and the need for collaboration and interoperability in trust tech.

The mission brought together experts from 14 organizations, both public and private, including Topsector ICT, Security Delta (HSD), Nederlandse AI Coalitie | NL AIC, Ministry of Economic Affairs and Climate Policy, Ministry of Justice and Security, dcypher, KPMG, Netherlands Forensic Institute NFI, INTERPOL Innovation Centre Directorate, TNO & Centrum Wiskunde & Informatica, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and National Cyber Security Centre. The Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Singapore provided tremendous support during the mission, and the participants aim to drive the trust tech partnership to the next level and harvest benefits in Singapore and the Netherlands.
