In May, our Community Meeting was focused on the topic of Digital Product Passports (DPPs). The status and future implications of DPPs
Sjoerd Rongen (TNO) discussed the current developments and future implications of DDPs, both in the Netherlands and Europe. He provided a summary of: Why do we need DPPs? What is going on in DPPs? What do we know regarding the solution and what do we not know yet?
The implications of DPPs for SMEs
Minh Le (Worldline and Member of the CIRPASS Consortium) addressed the potential costs and benefits for Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs), as well as the impact that the implementation of the DPP may have on SMEs through sharing the findings from a CIRPASS study.
Standardisation of DPP
The EU regulation ‘Eco-design for Sustainable Product Regulation (ESPR)’ is about to enter into force and there is a need for standardisation of the DPP in the Netherlands and the EU. Emiel Janssen (NEN) talked about the establishment of the Joint Technical Committee 24: ‘Digital Product Passport: Framework and System’, which aims to deliver harmonised standards for the DPP System. He discusses its scope.
