The Data Spaces Support Centre (DSSC) has announced the recent release of the Blueprint 1.0. The Blueprint supports parties who want to share data in setting up a data space. In addition, newly set up data spaces can use the Blueprint to grow into a more mature data space. This version introduces enhanced speed, future-proofing, and federated capabilities, representing a remarkable advancement from its initial design principles and previous iterations.
How to set up and deploy a data space
Identifying in which life cycle stage your data space initiative’s is in, is crucial. The co-creation method serves as a guiding framework for data spaces and their participants, facilitating the establishment, growth, and operation of these initiatives. Through this method, the DSSC provides a practical, hands-on approach, offering detailed instructions on integrating building blocks during data space construction. This method supports the progression of data space initiatives through various stages of the development cycle, accommodating initiatives at different maturity levels.
Mission and vision
The Data Spaces Support Centre want to contribute to the creation of common data spaces, that collectively create a data sovereign, interoperable and trustworthy data sharing environment, to enable data reuse within and across sectors, fully respecting EU values, and supporting the European economy and society. Funded by the European Commission as part of the Digital Europe Programme, the DSSC is aimed at the public sector and companies that want to create sovereign data spaces. Therefore, the DSSC explores the needs of data space initiatives, defines common requirements and establishes best practices to accelerate the formation of sovereign data spaces as a crucial element of digital transformation in all areas.
