As we are all looking forward to the ONE Conference, which will be held on the 18th and 19th of October 2022 at the World Forum in The Hague, dcypher and Cyberveilig Nederland introduce the Innovation Expo. To get a better idea of the idea behind this exciting new addition to the conference, Eddy Boot (dcypher) and Petra Oldengarm (Cyberveilig Nederland) express their view on this collaboration:

What is the Innovation Expo?
Eddy: "This Innovation Expo takes place on October 18th and 19th during the ONE Conference 2022 in the World Forum in The Hague. Where 25 companies from the broad cybersecurity domain will show their groundbreaking innovations to the public. Small startups but also established companies will exhibit tomorrow's developments in the field of cyber security."

How did this Innovation Expo initiative come about?
Petra: "Earlier this year, I paid a visit to Campus Cyber in Paris, where I saw with my own eyes how important it is not only to work together, but also to show the general public which products and services you are developing in the cybersecurity domain. The Innovation Expo during the ONE Conference is therefore important and can really become a showpiece for cybersecurity innovation in the Netherlands."

Why are dcypher and CVNL doing this together?
Eddy: "As a collaboration platform, it is important for dcypher to connect relevant parties who focus on innovation. This concerns what we already know to become digitally secure, but also what will be needed in the future: what do we need to remain resilient? So, what is coming our way in terms of threats, and what answers do we have in terms of new products and services to protect us? In that context, the Innovation Expo is a unique stage for innovative companies to present themselves and make important new contacts. It is therefore logical that dcypher and CVNL and its supporters work together in this regard."

What are the main themes?
Petra: "Of course it starts with cyber resilience. As long as organisations do not realise that they are vulnerable, they will not invest in cybersecurity. That's about the now. But our threat landscape is constantly changing. The war in Ukraine has made this clear; it is hybrid warfare and we, as allies of Ukraine may also become a target. Another example: 5 years ago we didn't have a discussion in the Netherlands (and Europe!) about digital autonomy. This has completely changed. How bad is it that we depend on non-European companies to keep us safe? These are all innovation issues, which makes it evident that we need an organisation like dcypher to fuel these discussions."

What is the added value of this event for companies in the cybersecurity domain?
Eddy: "It can be of great added value for companies to actually show their innovations and to introduce a wide range of (international) national visitors to new products and services in the cybersecurity domain. The Innovation Expo offers an opportunity to show, also for your existing customers, which innovations you have in-house, and which developments can be expected in near future."

Petra: "If you look at the visitors of the ONE Conference, this is a unique opportunity to network. There is a very relevant audience, a mix of cyber experts, policy makers, researchers, end users; you might even call it an exclusive audience."

Eddy: "I agree, with the Innovation Expo we offer a perfect stage to present your cybersecurity innovation to the public and making new valuable contacts."
