With the Netherlands planning to invest heavily in neuromorphic computing, this short animation explains exactly what this innovative Digital and Information Technology entails and how it enables faster and more secure computers while offering key benefits in terms of sustainability.
Neuromorphic technologies is one of the seven Digital and Information Technologies within Topsector ICT’s remit. This groundbreaking development is being spearheaded in expert collaborations around the globe, including by researchers at Radboud University, the University of Groningen, SURF, UCL, the Netherlands Enterprise Agency and Topsector ICT. Backed by the Dutch central government, they are making significant steps towards achieving a more sustainable digital future.
At the end of March, a large Dutch delegation embarked on a four-day innovation mission to the UK, focusing on neuromorphic computing. Organised by the Embassy of the Netherlands in London, the Netherlands Enterprise Agency and Topsector ICT, the mission offered unique opportunities for Dutch and UK partners to strengthen the ecosystem through collaboration and knowledge exchange.
Our director Frits Grotenhuis gave an interview to Computer Weekly explaining why this technology is so promising.
