Future Network Services

Digital infrastructure is of vital importance for the Netherlands. It is therefore imperative that future communication networks are even faster, more reliable and secure.

To achieve this, a far-reaching collaboration is needed between public and private parties, focused on researching and developing next-generation communication networks, especially 6G.

The first steps to this end have already been taken. Together with partners, we are working to realise the growth fund proposal Future Network Services (FNS).

Positive assessment from National Growth Fund committee

The project has gotten a positive assessment from the National Growth Fund (NGF) advice committee and the cabinet has taken over this advice. As can be read in the committee's advice report, FNS is one of the 18 winners among 47 submitted proposals.

The FNS proposal can potentially count on an NGF subsidy of € 61 million for the first phase, to stimulate structural and sustainable economical growth in the Netherlands. If the results of this first phase are evaluated positively and the proposal for the second phase is approved, the reservation of € 142 million for the second phase can be made available.
