The Centre of Excellence for Data Sharing and Cloud (CoE-DSC) is an initiative that builds on the efforts and results of the Data Sharing Coalition, the data sharing workgroup of the Netherlands AI Coalition (NL AIC) and the Gaia-X Hub Netherlands. Pooling these efforts and results leads to synergy, which yields a helpful contribution to preventing fragmentation in data-sharing solutions. The aim is for the CoE-DSC to become the definitive access point for knowledge, resources and expertise on data sharing in the Netherlands.
The CoE-DSC supports organisations in realising scalable use cases to tap into the potential for sharing data, and helps organisations create the required trust mechanisms for safe, secure, reliable data sharing. Focusing on opening and developing generic building blocks, the CoE-DSC aims to facilitate initiatives for sharing data more easily and for lower costs. Moreover, building from a common base implies that it will become easier in future to achieve interoperability between solutions for sharing data from various sectors and regions. For these activities, the CoE-DSC works closely with a community of active participants in which knowledge is shared and valorised for future use.
The CoE-DSC also aligns its activities closely with the European Data Strategy (Dutch), as well as new regulatory proposals such as the Data Act, and joins forces with initiatives such as the Data Spaces Support Centre (DSSC).
