On Thursday May 8, 2025, we will organize a webinar: ‘Assessing compatibility among cloud services in a marketplace’.
Summary
To enable federation among cloud services (whether PaaS, SaaS, or IaaS), it is crucial to check the compatibility of service characteristics. This task is challenging and requires validating numerous parameters. In this presentation, we will introduce the compatibility metrics that have been developed to assess service compatibility. The compliance check has been implemented using semantic-based technologies.
Agenda or topics to be covered
We will explore the creation of compatibility metrics in marketplaces to enhance transparency among various stakeholders. Additionally, we aim to gather feedback on the business value that these compatibility metrics can bring to marketplaces. Further topics of discussion will include the use of semantic-based technologies to reason upon information and perform compliance checks.
Speaker: Giulia Biagioni
She is a Scientist at the Netherlands Organization for Applied Scientific Research (TNO). She holds multiple postgraduate degrees, with specializations in semantics and semiotics. Giulia is a co-creator of European RDF-based standards within the SAREF framework of ontologies for EU data spaces and ecosystems, standardized by the European Telecommunications Standards Institute (ETSI). She serves as the technical leader for the semantic-based approach of the Important Project of Common European Interest (IPCEI) on Cloud Infrastructure and Services (CIS), ECOFED. Giulia is also the technical leader and co-applicant of the EU PoC-winning proposal Manuscript-AI, a semantic-based solution for interoperability in the cultural heritage sector. A published author of numerous international scientific articles, Giulia was a speaker at the Trade Facilitation Innovation Days 2023, organized by UNCTAD under the World Economic Forum’s Centre for Regions, Trade and Geopolitics program.
